Ketchum Busted Mugshots
Ketchum is Blaine County's second-largest selected city. The 2020 Census put its population at 3,555. Its own police department launched on August 3, 2026, ending a long BCSO contract. Acting Chief Garrett Ruckle leads the new agency, per the launch notice. This change runs deeper than a name swap. It decides which office keeps a city incident report.
Anyone arrested in Ketchum still lands at the Blaine County Detention Center. So the BCSO roster and recent feed remain the county's official booking sources. A KPD report and a BCSO booking photo stay two separate records. The jail and the photo sit under county control, even when the agency field reads Ketchum Police.
Read three fields together. Check the booking date, the arresting agency, and the custody status. The county system also holds people arrested elsewhere, sentenced people, work release, IDOC custody, and ICE Holds.
Where Ketchum Busted Mugshots Appear
Ketchum Police posts no daily arrest log. There is no booking-photo page or fixed blotter either. The county's official systems are the only online path. For the underlying KPD incident file, file a city records request.
| Channel | Photo? | Official? | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| BCSO current roster | Yes, for returned entries | County-embedded | Current custody and displayed Ketchum agency labels |
| BCSO recent feed | Yes, for returned entries | County-embedded | Roughly four rolling days, including release dates when shown |
| Ketchum Police records | Ask the city custodian | Official city route | Post-transition KPD reports and qualifying older city records |
| MyCourts | Not a booking-photo source | Official court route | Case filings, hearings, and disposition |
| RecentlyBooked Blaine | Site displays booking material | No | Unofficial county page, not a reliable city filter |
| Arrests.org Blaine | Archived photos may appear | No | Lists Ketchum and Ketchum PD, but visible records were older |
Start any search with the official BCSO roster and recent feed. What they show is custody, not a courtroom outcome.
Busted in Ketchum: Find a Booking
The date line decides everything. An event before August 3 may sit in old contract-era records. Later reports belong with KPD. The booking photo itself stays on the detention side of the ledger. For the custody-state differences, see the Blaine County roster and feed treatment.
- Check the county Detention Roster page for current custody, status, agency, and booking date.
- Check the Recent Arrests page for a booking or release inside the rolling window.
- For a post-August 3 city incident report, use the Ketchum Police records page and form.
- For a BCSO booking record or image outside the feed, use the sheriff’s Records page and FOIA form.
- Use MyCourts for the court case and IDOC for state custody or supervision.
Agency labels alone won't tell you who holds every paper. Ketchum's transition makes it smart to pin down the event date and the type of record before you ask.
Ketchum Police Records
The Ketchum Police records page points requesters to the department at 208-726-7819 or fax 208-726-7848. The city's public-record form asks for contact details, a full description of what you want, a signature, and a certification. Copying fees fall under Resolution 18-031. Payment comes first, based on the City Clerk's estimate, before any research or copying.
The city promises a response within three working days. Extra time can add up to ten more, with notice. That clock covers city requests only, not booking posts. Ask KPD for incident reports. Ask BCSO for booking records or photographs. BCSO's FOIA form states plainly that it cannot hand over Ketchum Police records.

Ketchum Busted After August 3
The August 3, 2026 launch anchors everything else here. Ketchum took on direct policing after nearly two decades under the BCSO contract. Older official pages may still describe the old deal. Private sites can carry stale agency names too. Trust the event date and record type over any copied page title.
Request post-launch reports from Ketchum itself. The booking photo still runs through BCSO, though, whenever the person was booked at the detention center. One event, two custodians. KPD holding the report while the sheriff holds the booking record is normal, not a conflict.
Note: Ketchum’s agency transition makes a stale city label especially likely on private archive pages. Verify with KPD and BCSO.
Ketchum Crime News and Mugshots
KMVT Wood River Valley has covered Ketchum policing, BCSO releases, court events, and public safety. Idaho Mountain Express follows the city across the Wood River Valley and keeps an archive. Both outlets write stories. Neither runs a current Ketchum booking-photo roster.
Arrests.org lists Ketchum and Ketchum PD on its Blaine page, but its visible records run older than the BCSO feed. RecentlyBooked is county-wide with no true Ketchum filter. The Blaine County Crime News page shows how to weigh a story against the official source.
From Ketchum Booking to Court
A booking record captures custody at intake. The court file starts later, at an appearance or arraignment, and can grow to show bond, hearings, amended charges, a plea, dismissal, acquittal, or judgment. The disposition is the court's result. It lives in the court file, never in the booking photo.
| Question | Best route |
|---|---|
| Current county custody | BCSO current roster |
| Recent booking or release | BCSO rolling recent-arrests feed |
| Ketchum incident report | Ketchum Police records request |
| Court disposition | MyCourts or a specific Fifth District document request |
| State custody or parole | IDOC search |
News stories, jail listings, and private archive pages can lag behind what a court eventually decides.
Ketchum State and Federal Custody
State custody runs through the Idaho Department of Correction. It tracks inmates, probationers, and parolees statewide. Search by IDOC number or by first and last name. One catch: it will not hand over a county booking photo. Someone sitting in the Blaine County facility can still carry an IDOC status on the BCSO roster, so the two systems sometimes overlap. An ICE Hold is just a custody flag noting a federal request.
Federal inmates live in a different system entirely. The BOP locator covers them but publishes no inmate photographs for the public. The ICE locator only tracks current ICE custody plus certain recent CBP holds. Neither works as a Ketchum mugshot source. Once a transfer happens, the county roster tends to lose its value for finding that person.
Note: Ketchum Police, BCSO, the state court, IDOC, BOP, and ICE are separate custodians with separate custody questions.
When Ketchum Busted Records Move
Timing shapes everything here. The BCSO roster shows only who is in custody right now. The recent feed covers about four days before entries drop off. Neither one promises a photo will stay posted or appear at a set hour, so a blank search can mean several things. The person may have been released, the feed may have rolled past the entry, or the page has not caught up yet. A different agency might also hold the record.
Then there is the August 3 transition, which splits the timeline in two. Older contract-era material may cover events before that date. Anything after belongs with KPD. Some third-party archives lump both periods under BCSO or Ketchum Police with no explanation of the switch. So check the event date, the arresting-agency field, and the facility field on any copy you pull.
When official pages go down, write down the time. Then fall back on the county wrapper, call BCSO at 208-788-5555, or send a written request. Do not trust a random private page just because the official site is dark. The county photo and the city incident report may take separate requests, even for a single arrest.
Releases work the same way. Someone can walk out of county custody while the court case is still open. The booking photo can linger in a records system long after the roster stops showing it. A Ketchum Police report may also carry a different incident date than the jail's booking date. Label those dates clearly. They are not one timestamp, and a release does not close the case.
Ketchum Busted Mugshot Requests
Every request should name the event date. Name the exact record you want, too. Ask up front for a cost estimate. If anything gets redacted or denied, require the legal basis in writing. One warning: the city form and the BCSO FOIA form do not swap.
- Post-launch KPD incident: use the Ketchum Police records page or city form.
- County booking record or image: use BCSO Records and its current FOIA form.
- Older contract-era incident: identify the date and ask KPD which custodian holds it.
- Court filing: make a specific request to the Fifth Judicial District.
- Historical series: ask BCSO about retention before contacting Idaho State Archives.
A private copy never replaces the agency that created the record. Save the stale URL first. Then push for a correction with the agency, the court, or the publisher that actually controls it.
